A Little Drip Can Do a Lot
A devotional reflection to help carry today’s Scripture from the page into everyday life.

Today I learned a lesson from a leaking shower.
We discovered a leak in the bedroom of our RV. At first, I thought it had to be something major. Maybe the toilet was leaking. Maybe a pipe had burst somewhere behind the wall. I started tracing the water, opening panels, trying to diagnose the problem.
The surprising part?
The leak wasn’t coming from the bedroom at all.
It was coming from the shower faucet.
Just a small drip.
Because everything in an RV is connected, that tiny leak traveled underneath the shower platform and slowly made its way all the way into the bedroom, soaking the carpet. What looked like a huge bedroom problem actually began with something small somewhere else.
As I stood there fixing it, God reminded me:
Never underestimate the power of little things.
The Bible constantly teaches this principle.
Jesus said that if we’re faithful with little things, He can trust us with greater things. Paul warned that a little yeast works through the whole batch of dough. Song of Solomon speaks of the little foxes that quietly destroy an entire vineyard.
Little things matter.
I remember Pastor Zane Anderson sharing the story of the Space Shuttle Challenger. One small O-ring failed in freezing temperatures. It seemed like a minor component, but its failure led to the destruction of the entire shuttle and the loss of seven lives.
A little thing.
A massive consequence.
That’s true spiritually too.
A little bitterness can become unforgiveness.
A little compromise can become a lifestyle.
A little gossip can divide a family, a church, or a workplace.
A little false teaching can slowly pull someone away from God’s truth.
That’s why we should be like the Bereans in Acts, carefully examining the Scriptures for ourselves—not becoming argumentative or looking for faults in everyone else, but humbly making sure our own hearts are aligned with God’s Word while lovingly helping others do the same.
The same principle applies in everyday life.
A little unnecessary spending every day eventually becomes financial stress.
A little wasted time each day eventually becomes years of missed opportunities.
A little neglect in our marriage, our health, or our walk with God eventually shows up somewhere we never expected.
Little drips become big puddles.
But here’s the encouraging side.
The same principle works for good.
One prayer every day.
One chapter of Scripture.
One act of kindness.
One encouraging conversation.
One dollar faithfully saved.
One step of obedience.
They may seem insignificant today, but over time those little drips become rivers of God’s faithfulness.
Maybe you’re overwhelmed today by the size of your dream or the weight of your responsibilities.
Remember this:
You don’t have to build the whole house today.
You just have to make today’s faithful drip.
Dream big.
Start small.
Stay consistent.
Keep showing up.
Keep praying.
Keep serving.
Keep obeying.
Because little things matter.
